Spring Olympic National Park Elopement | S. and B.
Marymere Falls and Lake Crescent The Love Story
S. and B. are both from Tennessee, and they met while working in 911 services. Their shared love of nature and hiking brought them closer, and soon they began traveling together, setting a goal to visit at least one U.S. national park every year.
When the couple started planning their wedding, they both knew they wanted to elope. They chose Washington State, one of the most beautiful states in the country, as the perfect place.
During their search, Google suggested Mount Rainier as the first option. But after our initial call and after they filled out their “dream elopement” questionnaire, I realized Mount Rainier wasn’t the best fit for them. When I introduced them to Olympic National Park, they immediately agreed it was the dream location they had been looking for.
Why Olympic National Park Was the Best Choice
The couple began planning their elopement just three months before their date. Mount Rainier is very strict about its permit policies, and I wasn’t sure we could secure Special Use Permit in time. Olympic National Park, on the other hand, is much more flexible—you can even plan an elopement just a week before and still find locations that don’t require permits.
During the planning process, S. and B. found out they were expecting a baby. Olympic became the best option because it offers many beautiful spots that don’t require strenuous hiking. While the couple loved hiking, the bride’s pregnancy changed what we could safely plan, and we didn’t want to take any risks. Olympic is both breathtaking and accessible.
Olympic National Park Elopement Timeline
This was a classic adventure elopement with a light hike. We began with a forest trail leading to a waterfall, where I captured the couple’s first dance. The forest became the perfect backdrop for their ceremony, and we also used it for some beautiful maternity photos.
Afterward, we went back to Lake Crescent, where the couple cut their cake and shared a sweet moment on the pier.
