How the Couple Decided to Elope at Mt Baker and Artist Point

Z. and D.'s love story is straight out of a rom-com! They met online at just 16 years old, living in different states but making it work with tons of chatting and epic walks whenever they flew to see each other. After high school, the groom packed up and moved to Washington State (talk about commitment!), and they've been inseparable ever since.

Fast forward 13 years after their teenage romance began, they finally decided to make it official and start a family. Naturally, they wanted to tie the knot surrounded by the beautiful Washington scenery that had been the backdrop to their love story all along. What better place than the mountains that had witnessed their relationship bloom?

For their special day, the couple chose the Fire and Ice Trail on Mt. Baker, with Artist Point as the perfect spot for their scenic photos. Spoiler alert: the views did not disappoint!

Mount Baker Elopement Timeline and Activities

This was a super intimate elopement with just their closest family members. No big crowds, just big love!

The day kicked off with a sweet first look between the bride and her dad (cue the tears!). The plan was for the bride and groom to see each other for the first time during the ceremony, with Dad proudly walking his daughter down the aisle.

They picked a small overlook for their ceremony and got creative with the decorations. Since real flower arrangements with seeds are a no-no in the park (Mother Nature thanks you!), they used artificial flowers instead. Hey, fake flowers last forever—just like their love!

When the groom finally saw his bride coming down the aisle, he totally lost it and started crying. After thirteen years, who can blame him?

After they said "I do," everyone enjoyed a small family picnic complete with heartfelt toasts and well-wishes. Nothing says "congratulations" like sandwiches with a view!

Later, the newlyweds ditched the guests (politely, of course) and headed to Artist Point for a private vow exchange by the shore, surrounded by candlelight. Super romantic!

There wasn't a golden sunset that day - it was foggy and moody instead. But honestly? Artist Point is like that friend who looks good in any outfit - it's gorgeous no matter what the weather throws at it!
